I'd say expectations. Give up expectations. What I got from Wiesel is seek purpose despite expectations and in doing so you will find hope (if not salvation, which is a kind of expectation.) Focus on what you can control, how you react, and don't make assumptions when it comes to things/people outside of your control/experience. And be compassionate with your expectations for yourself - don't beat yourself up when you don't achieve a goal and don't praise yourself when you do. Wear your self-expectations lightly and recognize contexts and experiences vary.
