I wonder if there is any psychological impact (on the aggregate level) between women and men that can be related to the pay gap. For example, I find that as a working mom juggling temporary contracts in search of the flexibility you cite so eloquently means my mind functions like a Tik Tok feed: lots of disparate images in bursts and spurts that are somehow related and demand attention without concentration. My husband, who is less in constant demand by family members on average, and has one more steady job with fixed hours in a central location and definitely more control over his work-related schedule, is able to concentrate better, I think. This really worries me and flays my sense of 'am I prioritizing correctly and/or does it matter as I will be interrupted anyways?'
