I am thinking about some students for whom I work that take advantage of the online MOOCs and edtech put out by prestigious US universities but then, often due to their locations and pragmatic concerns like money, begin to feel demotivated, like these universities are selling the illusion of access to further commodity their brands and up-skill an already underpaid workforce for further exploitation by people who can afford to actually attend the universities in person. I don't think it is intentional but that is what appears to be happening in many instances. I wrote about it after reading the latest UNESCO report on edtech. It makes me angry but I don't really know what to do with that anger.https://medium.com/brain-labs/edtech-student-fed-not-student-led-5d063b44990d
