‘Competing’ in Horizon Europe

Much like Kim Kardashian, Harvard is amoral.

Harvard (aka Kim) is purposeful.

I’ll explain.

The premise of amorality in funding higher education research.

It’s widely accepted that Kim K (or let’s blame the mother, as is traditional) sold her (slightly) post-adolescent sex tape to finance the roots of her current empire. She saw a (juicy, lucrative) opening, and she filled it.

On camera apparently.

Harvard also fills its elite orifices with celebrities that will pay dividends to its institutional legacy (and its reputedly HUGE endowment.) Harvard is not about birthing potential — it’s about forming mutually beneficial alliances that build upon existing wealth and power. Harvard is aristocratic as long as the aristos prove competent in maintaining and growing said power and wealth. (To be honest, I’ve never understood why countries let the incestuous aristos maintain their position — it’s building your power based on the law of diminishing returns. But I digress…)

Harvard only recruits established successes, be they born to their privilege (and interested in keeping it) or simply very successful in establishing a privileged brand upon which Harvard can capitalize. The teams that Harvard (and Kim K)…
